GITEX Digital Game World is the biggest eGaming platform in the Middle East being held at GITEX Shopper 2009. Over 700sqm will be dedicated to a combination of various gaming activities including national and international tournaments, online PC Gaming, new game launches, live entertainment and interactive promotional stands from sponsors and exhibitors.
INTEL EXTREME MASTERS
The global league of eSports Champions, the Intel Extreme Masters will be coming back to GITEX Shopper this year.
The Global Challenge will feature a world-class tournament in Counter-Strike 1.6 with $25,000 in cash prizes. It will also feature the first ever Quake-Live competition held outisde the USA, with prize money of $6,500.
The event will gather players and teams from 3 different continents, including last year's winners - mousesports from Germany.
Dell's gaming brand Alienware will put to test for the first time at the Global Challenge, the high-end Alienware M17x.
The Global Challenge will kick-off with Quake-Live on October 17 - 19
Counter Strike 1.6 Tournament will follow on October 20 - 22
Visitors to GITEX Shopper will not only be able to watch exciting matches on stage but will also have a chance to participate in a tournament with the world's best computer gamers on October 18 - 19 - in the local Counter-Strike qualifier which be open only for two spots in the Global Challenge
There will be a free-to-enter Quake-Live Pro Am Challenge on October 23 - 24 with free gifts from Roccat
